Thanksgiving Menu: Harvest of Gratitude
This year's Thanksgiving was another year of embracing the gratitude as the family and friends gathered around.
My preparation for Thanksgiving menu always the last minute but I always make sure it will be a memorable one.
This year, I wanted to try something different. I found this idea on TikTok where the Turkey was stuff with chicken! I thought it was unique. Hoping to surprise and educate the kids but instead, my husband already knew about it! He told me that his Grandma used to do this "TurDucKen" on Thanksgiving! I said, "What? I never heard of it!"
A Turducken is a unique and elaborate dish where a deboned chicken is stuffed inside a deboned duck, which is then stuffed inside a deboned turkey. The name is a combination of "Turkey," Duck," and "Chicken." It's often filled with layers of stuffing between each bird, creating a flavorful and impressive centerpiece for special occasions like Thanksgiving! It sound so impressive!. Thanks to copilot!
Curiosity sets in! I stuffed the Turkey with Chicken!
Here's how I did mine:
Clean turkey and chicken
Seasoned it diced onion, garlic, rosemary, peppers (red and green), celery, rolled lemongrass, pineapple juice, lemon juice, slices of lemon squeezed and salt and pepper, and rub it with butter.
Marinated it in 24 hours
12 lbs. - baked it for 3 hours and 30 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit
It came out perfect!
Half way of the time, I pulled it out to brush it with the sauce from the seasoning.
