Baking Banana Bread at Midnight: "The Start of My Flea Market Journey”

There’s something special about baking Banana Bread at midnight. (Yeah, see image here, that's the time stamp from my phone).
The house is quiet, the world feels still, and it’s just me, my mixing bowl, and the familiar smell of ripe bananas turning into something warm and comforting.
Last night, I baked a fresh batch of banana bread — not just for fun, but for something bigger. After about 6 months of staying quiet with my baking, I’m stepping back into my entrepreneur era, and my first stop is the local flea market.
Ideas of blogging and writing has been a dream sitting on the shelf for a while now. Life, work, motherhood, and everything in between kept me busy, but the desire to build something sweet, meaningful, and mine never went away.
So I decided to stop waiting for the “perfect time” and start with what I have: my recipes, my passion, and my willingness to show up.
Banana bread felt like the perfect beginning. It’s simple, nostalgic, and loved by almost everyone. It reminds people of home — and that’s exactly what I want WestBocaSweets to feel like.
A taste of comfort. A taste of culture. A taste of joy.
As I wrapped each loaf, I felt something shift. This wasn’t just baking. This was building. This was choosing myself. This was saying yes to the small beginnings that lead to bigger things.
Selling at the flea market is my way of learning, growing, and connecting with people face‑to‑face. It’s grassroots entrepreneurship — the kind that teaches you resilience, creativity, and the beauty of starting small.
I don’t know exactly where this journey will take me, but I do know this: My WestBocaSweets is officially in motion. And if last night’s banana bread is any sign, this new chapter is going to be sweet.
